Aether Struct
Aether Struct is a concept — an invented firm, invented projects, no client. I built it as a design exercise, to work out what a structural engineering practice would look like online if the site were organised around engineering rather than around a company profile. Everything in it, from the copy to the project figures, is written for the concept and belongs to no real business.

Contractor and engineering sites nearly always arrive at the same six pages — About, Services, Projects, Contact — and the reader learns nothing about the work from the shape of the site itself. The exercise I set myself was to find an information architecture that carries the subject matter, and to hold a heavy editorial layout together across a full scroll-driven page without it collapsing into a template.
The navigation follows the build sequence: Foundation, Structure, Envelope — ground upward, in the order an engineer meets them — so the reader moves through the site the way a building is assembled. Each of those sections runs its own process narrative (site investigation, geotechnical modelling, pile design, installation and QA) rather than a service blurb. Type does the structural work: Space Grotesk condensed at display weight against Outfit for body, teal and amber on deep slate, full-bleed site photography under the section heads. Built on the Next.js App Router with Tailwind v4 and next/font, laid out mobile-first, with an English and Indonesian switch.
